Turner Boyd is built on one simple proposition: provide the expertise and quality of a large firm with the personalized service and value of a small firm.

Our partners have successfully litigated critical intellectual property cases in large law firms, both for and against Fortune 100 companies. We founded Turner Boyd in 2008 to offer that same quality of legal services to both established and emerging companies.

We litigate with focus, efficiency, and creativity. There are other ways to practice law, but we believe that our approach better serves our clients and is more satisfying to us as lawyers. We like it that way. You will, too.

Rachael Lamkin to Speak at Mobile Work Week:
“Get a Room — IP, Confidentiality, and Mobile/Coworking Spaces” – December 7, 12:30-1:45pm

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011
Rachael Lamkin, with Turner Boyd’s IP litigation practice, is hosting this lunch discussion during Mobile Work Week.  Mobile, shared work spaces are an emerging trend in business, allowing collaborators the convenience of flexible, as-needed meeting locations, yet guidelines regarding confidentiality and liability are yet to be defined.  Entrepreneurs, owners of coworking spaces, and the attorneys who protect them will benefit from Ms. Lamkin’s perspective on some of the law-related concerns surrounding this growing model.  Focus will be on patents and trade secrets.  The event and lunch are sponsored by LiquidSpace (http://liquidspace.com/) of San Francisco.  Register for tickets at: http://mobileworkweek.eventbrite.com/#iplaw.

“Reexamining Reexamination”: Karen Boyd Moderates Patent Law Panel – December 8-9

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

Karen Boyd will be moderating a panel on reexaminations at the 12th Annual Silicon Valley Advanced Patent Law Institute, being held December 8-9 at the Silicon Valley Four Seasons.  Ms. Boyd is a regular speaker at this conference, and has been on its planning committee from its early years.  The panel, entitled “Reexamining Reexamination:  Past, Present, and Future” includes panelists who are prosecutors, litigators, and in-house attorneys.  The panel will address how reexaminations have changed over the last decade, and what the future looks like for post-grant review and the new reexamination guidelines.

Each year, the Silicon Valley Advanced Patent Law Institute brings together hundreds of IP lawyers and judges from across the country.  Presented by the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology at UC Berkeley, the Stanford Program in Law, Science & Technology, and the University of Texas School of Law, the conference explores the cutting edge of patent law from a variety of perspectives.  Plus you get ethics credit.  And lunch.
