Mr. Flanders has 10 years of intellectual property counseling and litigation experience, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation. He has counseled clients both large (multi-national conglomerates and Fortune 100 companies) and small (solo inventors taking on large corporations; a mom-and-pop t-shirt shop on the Santa Cruz wharf), covering technologies as diverse as semiconductor etch processes, minimally invasive cardiac surgery devices and methods, pneumatic filter weaves, and condom design. In addition to his intellectual property experience, Mr. Flanders has extensive experience in general commercial litigation, including government contract disputes, class actions, and worker’s compensation litigation.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Flanders enjoyed a 15 year career as a software engineer. He attended the University of California, Berkeley and Santa Clara University School of Law. He is a board member, treasurer and general counsel for a number of non-profit youth sports organizations and spends much of his free time ferrying various children to baseball, basketball, rugby, soccer and ice skating events.
