“Reexamining Reexamination”:
Karen Boyd Moderates Patent Law Panel

Monday, February 13th, 2012

Karen Boyd moderated a panel on reexaminations at the 12th Annual Silicon Valley Advanced Patent Law Institute.  Ms. Boyd is a regular speaker at this conference, and has been on its planning committee from its early years.  The panel, entitled “Reexamining Reexamination:  Past, Present, and Future” included prosecutors, litigators, and in-house attorneys.  The panel addressed how reexaminations have changed over the last decade, and what the future looks like for post-grant review and the new reexamination guidelines.

Each year, the Silicon Valley Advanced Patent Law Institute brings together hundreds of IP lawyers and judges from across the country.  Presented by the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology at UC Berkeley, the Stanford Program in Law, Science & Technology, and the University of Texas School of Law, the conference explores the cutting edge of patent law from a variety of perspectives.

Rachael Lamkin Speaks at Mobile Work Week

A Win Behind Closed Doors

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

There are many reasons why parties choose arbitration instead of litigation. But one of them — the fact that the proceedings and awards are private, outside the public eye — makes it a lot harder for attorneys to talk about our arbitration successes. So you have our apologies in advance for needing to mute the toot of our own horn.
